Wallers begin Albany News transition

A New Chapter and a Final Goodbye

By David H. Waller A little over a year ago, Donnie, Melinda, and I sat down at The Albany News office to talk about the possibility of me buying the historic newspaper. But as we unpacked the details, I knew the timing wasn’t quite right. There were too many moving pieces in my life, and the stars just hadn’t aligned. So, instead they welcomed me into the team to handle graphics for the paper, offering me a way to contribute, even if it wasn’t yet as the owner.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, November 16th at First Baptist Church of Albany with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 15th at Morehart Mortuary of Albany.
