Fandangle Assn. hopes to finish theater updates
Directors of the Fort Griffin Fandangle Association have announced a new campaign to raise an additional $300,000 to completetherenovationsneeded at the Prairie Theater. The Fandangle raised $884,750 prior to last summer’s performancetofundmajor projects such as reconstructing theaudienceseatingarea,along withreplacingthesoundsystem and restoring the calliope.
Drawings set Feb. 14
Downtown merchants will continue handing out entry forms for a Valentine drawing until Feb. 14, with the winners receiving a $50 gift certificate for one of the participating businesses.

OJAC to celebrate Lunar New Year
Even with part of the Old Jail Art Center stll closed to finish renovations, families will be welcomed into the sculpture courtyeard and the Stasney Center on Saturday, Feb. 10 for a three-hour celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Tax payments now delinquent
The staff at the Shackelford County Tax Appraisal office is still processing tax payments that were sent through the postal service, as well as those that were in the drop box this morning, but starting today, Feb. 1, tax payments for 2023 assessments are officially delinquent.

General Education Development (GED) classes resumed with the start of the spring semester. Classes are held 5:308:30 p.m.
