Drawings set Feb. 14

Downtown merchants will continue handing out entry forms for a Valentine drawing until Feb. 14, with the winners receiving a $50 gift certificate for one of the participating businesses.

Completed entries will be picked up during the morning of Feb. 14 for the drawings. Results will be posted later in the afternoon.

“The Valentine project is going well,” Chamber manager Brandi Lehew said. “I had to take more entry forms to some businesses already.”

Shoppers will be given one entry form by each participating store for each $10 in purchases made.

Thecompletedformscan be placed in drawing boxes at any of the stores.

“We will put all the entry slips into one big pot and then draw for store specific gift certificates,” Lehew said.

Businessesparticipating include Buds For You, Sassifrass, Southern Comfort, Vintage Vanilla, Erline’s, RusticCharm,MeandMrs. Jones, Blanton Caldwell, and Albany Wellness.

Annual Meeting

The annual membership meeting of the Albany Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for the Friday, Feb. 16 luncheon at the Icehouse restaurant starting at 12:00 noon.

Chamber directors whose terms have expired will be up for re-election, followed by the election of officers for the next year.

Those whose terms are expiringareJanaKitchens, Jonathan Scott, Robin Balliew, and Megaen Birdwell.

Board members serve three-year terms.

The board will meet to elect officers for the coming yearfollowingthedirector’s election.

TheannualMembership AppreciationCrawfishBoil has been set for Thursday, April 11.

Members who have renewed their membership are invited to attend, along with prospective members.

The Chamber has several levels of membership dues starting with a $35 fee for nonprofits and $50 per year for retired citizens up to$125-$300forbusinesses of different sizes.
