Chamber luncheon ‘moved’

The regular Chamber of Commerce noon luncheon this Friday has been cancelled, or maybe more accurately “moved,”somembers and others can support the Albany Kiwanis Club fajita lunch at noon that day at the golf course. The public is invited to eat at the fajita luncheon.

Fentanyl presentation discussed

Trustees review status of Senate bills Albany ISD trustees agreedatMonday’sboard meeting that a presentation last week about the dangers of Fentanyl apparently had a profound effect on many students who were present. Several board members and administrators said they had heard from their children or others who talked about what the two Lubbock-area law enforcement officers had revealed during the assembly involving sixth grade through seniors.

Red Ribbon Week set Oct. 23-27

♦ Contests, prizes, and dress-up days will all be part of next week’s Red Ribbon Week at both Albany campuses. The nationwide theme of the 2023 campaign is “Be Kind to Your Mind, Live Drug Free,” which will be observed locally on Oct.
