By Sandy Morris Two Albany High School students medaled at the University Interscholastic League state academic meet held last Saturday, May 1 at Abilene Wylie High School. Senior Hannah Trail was notified Monday that she had earned a gold medal in the Editorial Writing event.

Alma Rae (Bear) Law Cleveland, 91, of Albany died Friday, Apr. 30, 2021 in an Abilene hospice facility. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 4, at the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Alma was born Dec. 12, 1929 in Ibex to James and Ila (Bowman) Law.

Nelda Charleen Davis was born on Dec. 17, 1946 to Charles and Aileen Davis in Baird, Texas. She went to school in Putnam, Texas where she played basketball and was a cheerleader.  While in school, she met and fell in love with L.C. Donaway. They were married on Aug. 12, 1966 in Putnam.
