Spots for kids golf camp fill fast

By Melinda L. Lucas

Only a couple of spots remain in a kids golf camp that is planned for Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 10-12 at the Albany golf course.

Because there is limited space on the driving range, the event is only open to 20 students from age six to 11, according to Ken Lawrence of the Albany Kiwanis Club, who is organizing the camp.

Sign-ups went fast, he said, and at press time on Tuesday, there was room for just two more campers.

Moran sewer line repairs to get underway soon

By Lynsi Musselman

The repair of the sewer line in Moran is getting closer to the start of actual construction.

City of Moran employee Karen Bishop said the project, which is being funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, will be presented to the city council this month for final approval.

Once the engineering group hired by the city, Jacob and Martin, receives approval for their construction plan, the council can start getting bids for the work to be completed.
