You, me & everyday life
This is basically for the seniors in our community because we seem to be the few ones who still have AT&T land lines and use them. For some reason, we seem to get any and many 800# calls.
This happens even if we’ve signed on to the “DO NOT CALL LIST.” I know that most of these calls are asking you for information that they should not know and should not be asking for.
They are also trying to either sell you something (like a back brace) that you do not need, or they are asking for money that you should not give them.
Many times the caller tries to intimidate you with some kind of story...This is the IRS, blah,blah,blah...First of all, the real IRS does not call you. Don’t fall for that and never ever give them any of your personal information.
There are times when I wish we didn’t have phone directories. This one kind of call is a real mystery to me....
...How can someone call my number (and I have caller I.D.), and it shows no name, but instead it shows INVALID NUMBER. If a number is invalid, wouldn’t that mean that it shouldn’t be working?? What is with invalid numbers?
Also, I hate the calls that show (UNKNOWN PERSON). Why would I even want to talk to someone I didn’t know? I think that’s a tad bit shady. Don’t you?
If you have an explanation for the “INVALID NUMBER PUZZLE,” give me a ring, and don’t try to sell me anything either.
Good day.
