The Albany Golf Club’s annual Labor Day tournament is scheduled to take place at the Albany Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, and golfers may want to sign up quickly to reserve a spot.

“We’ve had a few teams sign up, and we still have openings for both tee times,” said club president Randy Walker on Monday. “However, we are running short of carts! If you need to rent a golf cart, call soon to see if one is still available.”

Tee times are 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Teams will be flighted for play on Sunday based on Saturday’s rounds.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top teams in each flight.

Entry fee for the two-person scramble is $80 per person ($160 per team) and includes one mulligan per player for each day of play and a brisket meal on Saturday evening.

For more information about the tournament or to register, contact James Waters at 325-627-3598 or Walker at 325-762-4177.

Weekly golf scrambles are held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons. The entry fee for those events is $10 for club members and $15 for non-members.
