Youth volleyball league organized

The Albany gymnasium wil be the site of a new elementary volleyball program.

The Albany Lil’ Diggers will be led by former Albany coach Lauren Peacock, with assistance from high school volleyball volunteers.

Participating students will be taught fundamentals of the game, including the skills of passing, setting, attacking, serving, and defense.

The program will be held Sunday afternoons from Sept. 11 through Oct. 16.

Third and fourth grade will practice from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., and fifth and sixth graders will practice from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Forms will be sent out through the elementary school and can be returned to them once filled out.

The deadline to sign students up is Friday, Aug. 26 at 3:00 p.m.

The cost of the program is $30 and students will receive a shirt.
