Youth league signups continue

The Albany Softball Association willholdaparents meeting for all age groups at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Youth Center.

“This is for all softball parents,” said ASA board member Matt Stapp. “The league is going to start with tee-ball and go up by grade level. Every group will meet, with approximately 15-30 minutes per meeting.”

Player registration concluded Friday, Jan. 19, but Stapp said the association will accept late registration.

This year, the ASA is offering League and Competitive play. The Competitive teams will travel out of town, play in a district tournament, and conduct tryouts. League teams will play two games a week for six weeks and will not travel outside of Albany or have tryouts.

Registration for League – tee-ball (4-and-under), 6-and-under, 8-and-under, 10-and-under, and 12-andunder – is $50 Registration for Competitive – 8U, 10U, and 12U – is $75.

Payment, birth certificates, andreleaseformsare due at the parent meeting.

Little League

Registration for Albany LittleLeague’s2024season iscontinuingforafewmore weeks. Little League organizer Paul Hamilton said the baseball program will continue with online registration, but information on how to register is available through the school.

Any child who played last year will already have an account, Hamilton said. New players will need to register for an account.

The registration deadline for tee-ball, coach pitch, Little League majors and minors, intermediate, and junior leagues will be in mid- to late February, Hamilton said.

The season will start following Albany’s spring break, which is March 11-15. Hamilton said an exact start date will be determined after registration is compete.

The season will last into May with all-star competition beginning in June.

Registrationfeesremain unchanged, starting at $50 for tee-ball and coach pitch, $75 for majors and minors, and $85 for intermediate and juniors. Scholarships are available. Families with three or more players will receive a discount.
