Woodson outscores Moran, Bulldogs to host Three Way

The Woodson Cowboys mounted an early lead and rode it through four quarters to outscore Moran 44-14 last Friday, leaving the visiting Bulldogs branded with their third loss of the season and a 3-3 record.

“Woodson is a good team, and they took advantage of the mistakes we made,” said head coach John Hughes. “Like it has in our other losses, our youth showed. We would make some great plays, but then have a bad penalty or costly turnover.”

In spite of the problems, coach Hughes said that he was pleased with the grit displayed by his team.

“I am proud of the guys for fighting through the adversity and giving everything they had,” he said.

This Friday, the Bulldogs have a 7:30 p.m. home game with the Three Way Braves.

“Three Way is sitting 2-4 on the year,” said Hughes. “They have a couple of good players that we will have to account for, but I think that we should be all right against them. Once we get past this game, it’s time for district play.”

Moran’s first bout in District 6 will be in Blackwell against the 7-0 Hornets on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m.
