Volunteers needed for track meets

Albany News

The Albany track teams are hosting two track meets next week, and volunteers are needed to run the concession stands.

Monday, March 25 Albany will host a junior high meet with nine visiting schools signed up to participate.

High school tracksters from eight area schools will take to the local track and field on Thursday, March 28.

The track and field events already have plenty of assistants signed up to run the meet, according to head coach Ryder Peacock, but the Athletic Booster Club is sponsoring the concession stands at both events, and helpers are needed.

Club secretary Tisha Wilkins sent out an email this week requesting volunteers to sign up.

“We need workers from all sports to volunteer,” wrote Wilkins. “The money made goes back to all the athletes, in all sports, for both junior high and high school.”

Those that did not receive the email from Wilkins can either access the “Signup Genius” link from the Athletic Booster Club’s Facebook page or contact Wilkins at 325-660-7443 to sign up for a specific time slot or slots.
