The junior high Lady Bulldogs played their first game of the year in Moran on Tuesday, taking on Strawn.

“The junior high girls were very excited about their first game,” said girls head coach Dakota Fowler.

Afterwards, the varsity volleyball team faced Strawn’s Lady Greyhounds.

Scores were not available at press time.

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Knox City Sept. 1, dropping the first set 19-25, but quickly earning redemption in the second, winning 25-15. The Bulldogs and Houndettes turned it into a hard-fought dog fight for the rest of the game, with Moran taking the third set 26-24, dropping the fourth to Knox City 23-25, and losing a close fifth set 15-17.

The girls lost their first district match-up at Ranger, 15-25, 15-25, and 16-25.

Moran will host Newcastle on Saturday, Sept. 15 and Hawley on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
