The Moran Lady Bulldogs volleyball team dropped its only match of last week at Ranger.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Saturday, Sept. 24 at Garner.

Moran lost 17-25, 19-25, 13-25 on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Ranger.

Lady Bulldogs coach Jo Hise said the match originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20 against Three Way will not be made up.

“That’s turning out to be a good thing,” Hise said. “I’ve got a bunch of girls sick with allergies and everything else.”

Moran has four matches left before the start of District 14-1A play on Oct. 8.

“I want to see us get our three hits down and come together to finish off points,” Hise said.

Cross Country

Five Moran athletes made their first outing of the cross country season Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the Merkel Invitational at Tin Cup Country Club.

“We were one of maybe three small schools there,” Hise said. “This was our first meet, so we set personal goals to do the best each individual could do. It was good practice.”

Alyssa Allred, Alayna Baker, Jayla Bussell, and Terra Thompson ran in the girls race, while Danny O’Keefe competed in the boys race. Meet results were not available at press time.

Hise plans to have seven girls and two boys competing at the district meet. Moran will run at Rotan on Wednesday, Sept. 28 before the District 13-1A meet next month at Eula.
