The Moran Bulldogs’ home opener against non-conference Benjamin Mustangs was a tough loss, but  the Bulldogs are looking ahead to play Evant on the road this Friday.

Moran plays in Evant on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Moran Independent School District superintendent Danny Freeman said pre-sale tickets are available for Friday’s football game versus Evant at the MISD business office until 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Seating will be limited with 84 tickets available for purchase.

Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students.

Fans will be required to wear a face  covering at all times and social distance as appropriate in the stands and common areas.

The first scheduled game for the junior high Bulldogs is at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10 in Rotan.

Season Opener

The young Bulldog  team was defeated last week 56-8 by the Mustangs.

The second quarter saw the only points scored for the night for Moran, a touchdown by junior Lyric Huskey and two extra points scored by junior Arren Hawley.

“The game did not go well last Friday night,” said Moran head coach John Hughes. “If  something could go wrong, it did. We really just never got anything going, but it was a great learning tool for the team.”

Hughes said the guys are in good spirits and are  ready for Evant this week.

“Evant will present a difficult challenge for the team,” Hughes reported. “They are very sound on both offense and defense, but if the guys do what we have practiced, we should be in good shape.”

Hughes added that the Bulldogs will be competing against the Elks as the underdog but they plan to show up and play.
