After enjoying time off for spring break this week, the Albany High School tennis team returns to action Thursday, March 21 at the Abilene High tournament.

Albany coach M.J. Reneau said she expects to have most of her lineup available for the event after taking just six players to Vernon in the team’s last outing.

Ahandfulofteammembers, one being returning boys singles state finalist Luke Marshall, have yet to play any competitive matches this season.

“I have several who haven’t played yet due to conflicts or cancelled tournaments,” Reneau said. “I’m still mixing and matching some, but it looks like we have the spots filled.”

The Abilene High tournament is a new event for the Albany players.

“I haven’t entered that tournament before, but we saw some of their players at the Vernon tournament,” Reneau said. “I think it will be really good competition for us.”
