Sports camps planned by coaches

Albany coaches are offering two sports camps over the next two weeks for students entering kindergarten through ninth grade for the 2023-24 school year.

The Albany Lions & Lady Lions All-Sports Camp will run Tuesday-Thursday, May 30-June 1, offering instruction by David Fairchild and Ryder Peacock in baseball, football, and basketball.

The camp is designed to teach boys and girls basic skills in each sport. Campers will learn drills to improve agility, speed, and hand-eye coordination along with focusing on techniques for throwing, dribbling, shooting, hitting, and catching.

Sessions will be 9:00-10:15 a.m. for kindergarten through third grade and 10:30-11:50 a.m. for fourth through ninth grades. Baseball and football sessions will be held in the Green Room with basketball in the gym.

Cost is $15 per day or $35 for the whole camp. Family rates cover two campers for $60 or three for $85.

The Albany Basketball Camp is scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, June, 5-6 at the Albany High School gym with instruction by Tate Thompson and Peacock.

Sessions are 9:00-10:15 a.m. for kindergarten through third grade and 10:30-11:45 a.m. for fourth through ninth grades.

Registration fee is $30 per child.
