Softball tryouts being held this week

The start of the Albany Softball Association’s 2024 season is just around the corner with drafts and tryouts held this week.

Players will be contacted by Friday, Feb. 16 with information regarding matters such as practices and team colors.

ASA secretary Ragan Riley said League schedules will be announced late next week.

TheASAwill offer competition in T-Ball, 10U, and 12U age groups this season. The 10U and 12U players have the option of League and Comptitive levels. The Competitive teams, which will travel out of town, will begin play after the League season.

Playerswillneedequipment such as bats, gloves, helmet with face guard, black softball pants, teamcolor sock and belts, and facemasks.

Anyone needing financial assistancetopurchase equipment should reach out to anASAboard member. Board members are Beth Roysdon (president), Matt Stapp (vice president), Riley (secretary), Kayla Herron (treasurer), Tiffany Dye (equipment director), Alison Gardenhire, and Staci Strauss.

TheASAcannothelpin the purchase of optional equipment such as batting gloves, bat bags or sliders.
