Senior night for the Albany Lions will take place this Friday night, Sept. 4 before the game against Dublin at 7:00 p.m.

Traditionally, ‘Senior Night’ is reserved for the last home game of the football season.

“With all the  unknowns this season, the district decided to push up ‘Senior Night’ to the second home game so the seniors would have the opportunity to be honored,” said Albany ISD athletic director Ryder Peacock.

He reported that 12 senior football players and one senior cheerleader will be recognized on Friday before kickoff.

“As with football, we are also honoring the senior volleyball players,” Peacock said. “We were able to schedule a date that was backed up with the Friday of football and felt like this was a good chance to honor our senior girls.”

The varsity Lady Lions volleyball team plays at home on Saturday, Sept. 5 against Abilene TLC, and the eight senior girls will be presented with their parents at that time.

  Stadium and

Gym Guidelines

AISD superintendent Jonathan Scott reminds fans, parents, students, and spectators to be aware of the requirements and adjustments from previous seasons.

“Everyone has followed the precautions at the gym and stadium so far,” Hill said. “As of right now, there are not any changes to the guidelines that have been put in place for admission and seating.”

Nancy Smith Elementary principal John Gallagher said students need to be sitting with their parents during the games and not playing under the stands or playing football to the side of the stadium.

Due to government restrictions, seating at home and away games requires spectators to sit in family groups and social distance when in common areas.
