Albany News

Season tickets are now on sale at the Albany High School principal’s office for the 2018 football season, featuring stadium seating at Robert Nail Memorial Stadium.

The Lions are hosting five home varsity games this year. The season opener against Colorado City is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Aug. 31, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

Reserved season tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for students, but can be used only for varsity home games, according to ticket coordinator Ann Riley. The seats are not discounted from the regular gate price, but ensure Lion fans of reserved seating at varsity games.

The red section in the stands is all reserved seating, and is the only section with backs.

“They can buy the season tickets at the Albany High School office,” Riley said. “We need them to come here so they can pick out their seat from the chart.”

Contact Riley at 325-762-3974 for more information.

At the gate, adults will pay $5 at varsity home games, while students are admitted for $2.

Prices for junior high and junior varsity football games are $3 for adults and $2 for students.

Admission to either varsity or JV volleyball games are $3 for adults and $2 for students.

Senior Citizen Passes

Anyone age 65 or over interested in senior citizens passes should contact Morgan Whitley at the AISD office at 325-762-2823.

Although they don’t reserve specific seats, the senior citizen passes are lifetime passes for all AHS athletic events held at home. Anyone who already has a pass does not need to renew it unless the card itself needs to be replaced.

“Anyone who needs a senior citizen pass may come on by my office and get one!” Whitley said. “I will also make sure that there are a few with the gate person.”
