School holiday declared because of playoff

Albany students have an unscheduled holiday Thursday (today) to attend the UIL State Football Championship Game time issetfor11:00a.m.atAT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The Albany Lions will play a rematch of last year’s championship game against Mart, with the Lions bringing home the state title in 2022.

Classes at both the secondary and grade school campuses will resume at the normal time on Friday, Dec. 15.

Changes in the schedule will not affect release times at either campus next week.

The normal 3:35 p.m. release will be followed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 18-19,withanearlyrelease on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 12:30 p.m. for the holidays.

Finals are scheduled at the secondary campus on Dec. 19-20, with the fall semester ending on Wednesday.

Staff members will return on Monday, Jan. 8 for a workday, with students returning on Tuesday, Jan. 9 for the start of the spring semester.
