High school runners interested in participating in cross country track this fall are meeting Monday, Aug. 5 at 8:00 a.m. to organize for the season.

Anyone entering grades 9-12 is invited to the meeting in the lobby of the main gym.

Coach Tate Thompson will hand out the required forms for runners to have signed by a parent in order to participate.

Tate will set up a workout schedule for runners, as well as announce the meets that the squads will compete in this fall.

“We will issue equipment, set up a workout schedule and talk about the season,” he said. “Our first actual workout will be on Tuesday, Aug. 6.”

Thompson said that he doesn’t know how many students to expect.

“Participation has been very inconsistent the last couple of years, so I don’t know who might be running this year,” he said. “Anyone who has an interest in cross country is encouraged to come to the meeting.”

Junior high runners will not meet until the first day of school on Aug. 15.
