Students at Nancy Smith Elementary School will showcase their athletic talents and enjoy a morning of fun during the school’s annual track and field day on Friday, May 16, at the Albany High School track.
The event, part of Health and Wellness Week at the elementary campus, is set to begin around 9 a.m. and wrap up by noon. A pizza lunch will be served to students as part of the festivities.
“This will be a fun-filled day, and we invite you to join us,” said NSES principal Jenci Chambers.
Elementary physical education teacher Makinzie Tomascik is coordinating the events, which aim to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and school spirit.
Health and Wellness Week kicks off on Monday, May 12, with the ResourceCare Health Fair and concludes with the Friday track meet.
While the meet marks the end of the Wellness celebration, year-end activities will continue through the following week.
On Wednesday, May 21, end-of-year awards for kindergarten through fifth grade will be presented at 9 a.m. in the NSES cafeteria. The next day, Thursday, May 22, will feature the annual elementary talent show at 9 a.m., followed by the sixth grade end-of-year slideshow and the traditional “running the hallways” celebration.
