Moran’s Alli Scott earned a return to state three times over last week at the Region II-1A track meet, qualifying in three events.

Scott, a junior, qualified for state last year in the 100 hurdles. At the regional meet, held Friday-Saturday, April 29-30 at San Angelo, she won the 300 hurdles and finished second in both the 100 hurdles and high jump.

“It took everything I had to qualify in three events,” she said. “I’m really happy to be where I am now.”

Scott ran career-best times of 16.63 in the 100 hurdles and 47.52 in the 300 hurdles. She cleared 5-0 in the high jump and had another personal best in the long jump at 16-5¼ to finish third. She missed out on a wild-card berth in the long jump by 2¾ inches to Abigail Vansbuskirk of Perrin-Whitt.

Scott will compete in the Class 1A meet on Saturday, May 14 at Myers Stadium in Austin.

Scott’s efforts helped Moran finish fifth in the team standings at the regional meet with 35 points.

“I’m extremely proud of the girls and the work that they put in over the weekend at the regional meet,” Moran coach John Hughes said.

Also scoring points for the Lady Bulldogs was Hannah Noble, who placed fifth in the 100 at 13.16 and sixth in the 200 at 27.90.

Emily Murk was 16th in the 800 at 3:02.56. Moran’s 400 relay of Alayna Baker, Noble, Murk, and Scott placed 13th in Friday’s prelims at 55.26.
