Moran varsity teams to host Baird Friday

The Lady Bulldogs suffered defeat in both of their games over the Christmas break.

Moran hosted Lueders-Avoca for an 11:00 a.m. match on Dec. 31, and the visiting Raiders left with a 46-22 victory.

The varsity girls also dropped their first district bout on Friday, Jan. 4, to Gordon by a final score of 18-45, according to coach Dakota Fowler.

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Ranger on Tuesday, Jan. 8, for a 6:30 p.m. tip off.

Results were not available at press time.

On Friday, Jan. 11, both of the Moran varsity teams are hosting Baird for games in Bulldog Gym starting at 6:30 p.m. for the girls, followed by the boys at 8:00 p.m.

Moran plays basketball in District 20 1-A along with Baird, Eula, Gordon, Ranger, and Strawn.

The junior high Bulldogs lost a Dec. 17 match in Strawn 20-34. Braxton Ethridge was the high scorer with 20 points, according to coach Matthew Hise.

The junior high teams will host Gordon on Thursday, Jan. 10, with the girls taking the court at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys at 7:00 p.m.
