Moran Jr. High team wins championship

The junior high Bulldogs won both of their games at the Woodson basketball tournament last Saturday, bringing home the championship trophy, and the only Moran victories last week.

Varsity Basketball 

The Lady Bulldogs, playing varsity basketball for the first time in two years, lost to Blanket by a score of 20 to 38 on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Moran fell behind early, trailing the visitors 4-19 at the end of the first half, and in spite of a much stronger showing in the second half, could not catch up to the Lady Tigers.

The varsity girls played in Munday on Monday, Nov. 19, and hosted Woodson on Tuesday, Nov. 20, before taking a Thanksgiving break. 

Scores from the games this week were not available as of press time on Monday.

The Lady ’Dawgs will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 27 for a 6:00 p.m. tip off in Gustine.

The Bulldogs varsity team will open their season in Gustine at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Junior High Results

The junior high Bulldogs beat Paint Creek in the first round to advance to the title round.

The Moran team then took on the Albany Cubs B team in the championship game, and battled to a 34-28 victory in overtime, to claim the title.

The junior high Lady Bulldogs were third at the Woodson tourney, loosing to both the host team and the Albany seventh graders.

Both junior high teams were off for Thanksgiving, and will travel to Ranger on Monday, Nov. 26 for a pair of games starting at 6:00 p.m.
