Moran athletes compete at district

The Moran varsity and junior varsity track team members competed in the District 13A track meet on Wednesday, March 7 at May High School.

Varsity Boys Results

Corey Miller won second place in the 400 meter dash and advanced to the area meet held Tuesday, April 13 in Hermleigh.

Arren Hawley, Memphis McGough, Caleb York, and Connor Hail also competed on the team which finished in sixth place. 

Varsity Girls Results

The 4 x 200 meter relay team of Dariann Hawley, Johnnie Hise, Hannah Noble, and Alli Scott won second place and advanced to the area meet.

Scott also was the district champion in the 100 meter hurdles, long jump, and high jump and advances in all three events. 

Noble also advanced to area after winning second in the 100 meter dash and third in the 200 meter dash. 

Hise won third place advancing to area and Hawley earned fifth place in the 800 meter run. 

Hise also was fourth in the high jump and will be an alternate at the area meet.  

Hannah Rogers placed fourth in shot put sending her to the area meet and sixth in discus. 

Emily Murk finished in sixth place in the 800 meter run and seventh in the 400 meter dash. 

Chloe Hendricks placed eighth in the 100 meter dash and Harmony Slaughter won eighth place in discus. 

The varsity girls finished in third place as a team, and all advancing members also competed on Tuesday, April 13 in Hermleigh. 

Results were not available at press time. 

Junior Varsity Girls

Samantha Hinkle placed first in the shot put and second in discus.

The JV girls finished third as a team.
