MHS basketball teams finish season

The Moran Bulldogs were able to get in only one game last week with a second cancelled because of illness.

The Bulldogs concluded their season Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Rising Star. Results will be reported next week.

The Lady Bulldogs wrapped up their season Tuesday, Feb. 6 against Baird.

Moran was forced to cancel three games over the last two weeks because of sickness. The varsity girls, varsity boys and junior highboyseachsawone contest called off. The high school cancellations, which were against District 131A opponents, were ruled 2-0 forfeit losses.

Girls Basketball

The Lady Bulldogs closed out their season with a 49-16 loss to Baird. TheLadyBearstooka19-5 lead in the first quarter and outscored Moran in every period.

Kacenda Thompkins led the Lady Bulldogs with seven points, while Bradee Stautzenberger added six. Kielar Carr had two points andLeAnnaSikeshadone.

Boys Basketball

The Bulldogs dropped their game at Baird 64-25. The Bears took an 18-6 leadinthefirstquarterand continued to extend the margin the rest of the way.

Landon Moreno scored 13 points to lead Moran, hitting three 3-pointers. Zech Henderson added six points with Garrett Hamilton scoring four and Caleb York two.

The cancellation on Friday, Feb. 9 against Cross Plains, was to have been the Bulldogs’ senior night.
