MHS athletes qualify for regional

The Moran varsity track team members competed in the area track meet on Tuesday, April 13 at Hermleigh High School and will be sending seven members to the regional meet.

Varsity Boys Results

Corey Miller won third  place in the 400 meter dash and advanced to the regional meet.

Varsity Girls Results

The 4 x 200 meter relay team of Dariann Hawley, Johnnie Hise, Hannah Noble, and Alli Scott won third place and advanced to the regional meet.

Scott also was the area champion in the 100 meter hurdles and high jump and placed second in the long jump. She advances in all three events. 

Noble also advanced to regional after winning third in the 100 meter dash and placing fourth in the 200 meter dash. 

Hise earned fourth place in both the high jump and the 800 meter run,  giving her a regional slot in both events.

Emily Murk and Hannah Rogers will travel as alternates on the 4x200 relay team.

The regional qualifiers will compete this weekend, April 23-24 at Angelo State University. 

Academic All-State

Moran ISD athletic director John Hughes announced that senior athlete Dariann Hawley was recently named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Academic All-State team.
