Little League signup starts

Registration for Albany LittleLeague’s2024season is underway.

Albany Little League organizer Paul Hamilton said the baseball program will continue with online registration this year, but information on how to register will be available through the school.

“If a child played last year, then they already haveanaccount,”Hamilton said. “If they’re new this year, then they will need to register.Wewon’thaveany printed forms, but we will haveaninformationsheet.”

The registration deadline for T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Little League Majors and Minors, Intermediate, and Junior leagues will be in mid- to late February, Hamilton said.

The season will start following Albany’s spring break, which is March 11-15. Hamilton said an exact start date will be determined after registration is finished.

The season will last into May with all-star competition beginning in June.

“We’re hoping to have four teams each in T-ball, Coach Pitch, Majors, and Minors,” Hamilton said. “Last year, we had four in Majors and Minors.”

Albany had one Intermediate team last year, butnoJuniorLeagueteam. Hamilton said the viability ofIntermediateandJunior levels will depend on the numberofplayerswhoregister in those age groups.

Registrationfeesremain unchanged, starting at $50 for T-Ball and Coach Pitch, $75 for Majors and Minors, and $85 for Intermediates and Juniors. Scholarships are available.

Familieshavingthreeor more children participating will receive a discount starting with the third child.
