The varsity Lions got in the win column last Friday at Roby with a 56-27 romp over the hosting Lions.

It was just the second game this season for the varsity due to an extended football playoff season.

The JV and varsity boys traveled to Coleman on Tuesday, with the varsity losing 48-60. Details will be provided next week.

The varsity will host the Abilene Hawks on Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Both teams will play at Hawley next Tuesday, Dec. 22.

All four high school teams will play starting at 6:00 p.m. in separate gyms. The varsity girls will start at 6:00 p.m. in the main gym, while the JV boys tip off at 6:00 p.m. in the auxiliary gym.

The varsity boys will play at 7:30 p.m., as will the JV girls in the auxiliary gym.

That schedule will be used for all district games except at Hamlin.

Fans will need to purchase tickets online for varsity games, while JV tickets can be purchased at the gate.

“It was nice to get back on the floor and see the guys start developing some chemistry,” head boys coach Ryder Peacock said. “I felt like we moved the ball well, took good shots, and created some second chance opportunities.”

The coach named London Fuentes, Coy LeFevre, Cole Chapman, and Barrett Beal as offensive standouts.

“Defensively, we applied enough pressure to create turnovers through a variety of ways, whether it was a steal, a tough shot, or an errant pass.” Peacock said. “Overall, this was a total team effort, and we were able to get contributions from all 10 guys.”

Albany 14 12 14 15 - 55
