The Albany Junior High Lady Cubs volleyball teams split a pair of matches Monday, Oct. 2 at Hawley in their final road trip of the season.

The Lady Cubs play their last three dates at home, starting Thursday, Oct. 12, against Bangs. The Silver team will play at 4:30 p.m., followed by the White and Red teams.

Just the White and Red teams played at Hawley on Monday.

The White won in three sets 19-25, 25-17, 15-10.

“Avery Gleitz really stepped up this game in serving,” coach Lauren Peacock said. “Overall, the girls played well and communicated much better.”

The Red team was swept 9-25, 11-25.

“Hawley rattled us, and we couldn’t shake it,” Peacock said. “They served the ball exceptionally well and made it very tough for us to set anything up. We looked good at times, but had a difficult time getting anything going.”
