The Lady Cubs volleyball teams closed out the season on Tuesday with a pair of wins.

The seventh graders posted a 25-22, 25-23 win in Strawn, while the eighth graders hosted Ranger to pick up a 25-14, 25-14 victory. Details were not available at press time.

The eighth graders traveled to Moran Oct. 22, bringing home a 25-4, 25-11 win.

Kiana Roberson scored on 14 consecutive serves and had two kills, while Robin Lucas put up 12 straight serves. Callan Edgar had two assists.

“The game in Moran was the first time I really saw the girls come together as a team,” coach Dakota Fowler said. “The girls encouraged each other throughout the match. I have had so much fun with these girls, and I am excited to see what they do in the future.”

The seventh grade lost a close match against Woodson last week, 22-25, 26-24, 16-18.

Leading scorers were Avery Everitt 10, Jalea Bowman 8, Gabby Lopez 6, and Ann Davis 4.

“Each of the sets were close,” coach Ginger Norton said. “Our serves kept us in the games, with the girls continuing to get better with each match.”
