Lady Cubs defeat Woodson

Both the seventh and eighth grade girls won their volleyball matches last week against Woodson.

The eighth grade girls hosted Moran’s junior high on Tuesday, while the seventh grade team was on the road at Abilene Christian School on Tuesday. Results of the games were not available at press time but will be reported next week.

The seventh and eighth grade Red teams will travel to Abilene Christian School on Monday, Sept. 14 for games starting at 4:30 p.m.

The eighth grade girls won against Woodson in three sets, 25-11, 23-25, 15-10.

“For the first game of the season, they played great,” coach Dakota Fowler said. 

The seventh graders defeated Woodson 25-11, 25-21.

Mimi Ivy was the top server with 17 points, including eight aces, followed by Alli McDaniel with 10, Kaisley Bartee, Ciera Clark with three, and Braylee Clark with two points.

“The girls played a great first game to start the season,” coach Ginger Norton said.
