The Lady Bulldogs started volleyball action last Saturday, Aug. 8, with a scrimmage against Loraine.

Moran volleyball coach Jo Hise reported that the team played well, and they were able to make adjustments and focus on rotation.

“We have a couple of areas where we need more practice,” Hise said.

Moran will host Munday this Saturday, Aug. 15 at 11:00 a.m.

The Bulldogs football team is in its second week of two-a-days with 12 players on the roster.

“We have had a great turnout this year and everything is going great,” said John Hughes, head football coach at Moran High School. “We had our first midnight madness practice, and the guys had a blast.”

Hughes added the team will have an intersquad scrimmage this Friday, Aug 14 at 7:00 p.m.

The varsity will host Benjamin for the first game on Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m., and junior high players will open their season play in Rotan on Sept. 10 at 6:00 p.m.

Moran plays six-man football in District 6-1A, along with Woodson, Lued-ers-Avoca, and Throckmorton.
