The JV Lions picked up their second win in as many games, routing the JV Dublin Lions 44-22 last Thursday in Dublin.

Albany will host Eastland this week starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (today) at Robert Nail Stadium.

The junior high games will be played in Eastland this week.

The decisive win in Dublin on Sept. 5 raised the JV’s record to 2-0 for the season.

Albany struck first, scoring on a one-yard run by Taren Farmer, followed by a two-point pass from quarterback Cole Chapman to London Fuentes.

Barrett Beal scored the first of his three tallies in the game on a 70-yard pass play from Chapman. The try for two failed.

Bryce Asher got the ball back for Albany on a fumble recovery, followed by Chapman finding Malachi Gueldner with a 31-yard touchdown pass. The try for the two-point conversion failed.

Beal scored the next two touchdowns on passes of 21 yards and 18 yards. Caden Price tacked on two-point rounds after both of Beal’s touchdowns.

Samuel Rosas ran the final score for Lions on a 23-yard carry, followed by another two-point run by Price.

“We played well on offense,” coach David Fair-child said. “Chapman, Beal, Price, and Rosas all had good games. The offensive line also did a good job.”

Linemen named by the coach were Chris Hensley, Koy Cauble, Bryce Asher, Coy Knight, Ty Everitt, and Ryan Mark.

“The defense rallied to the ball and played with a lot of energy,” the coach said. “Asher, Farmer, and Mark all had good games.”
