The JV Lions had to travel to Roscoe last week, but didn’t play the Plowboys.

Roscoe has canceled the remainder of its JV schedule due to low numbers of players, but the Lions met the Post Antelopes’ JV on the Plowboys artificial turf field, remaining perfect for the season with a 24-0 win.

Improving to 7-0 for the season, Albany mounted a long campaign to score on a three-yard run by Brooks Neece. The Lions also scored on the two-point play on a pass from Cade Neve to Neece.

“We took up a lot of the clock on the first drive,” coach David Fairchild said. “We converted several third down and long situations on passes from Neve to Cooper Fair-child, and Robert Bailey had two big runs for us.”

The Lions stopped Post’s next possession with an interception by Luke Ivy, who returned the ball 64 yards to set up the next tally. The score came on a 10-yard pass from Fair-child to Everett McWhorter. The two-point pass from Fairchild to Neece put the Lions up 16-0.

The final score came on a six-yard run by Bailey, followed by a conversion pass from Fairchild to McWhorter.

“We played a complete game on offense,” the coach said. “Neve had some nice throws that our receivers did a good job of catching.”

Fairchild came in at quarterback after Neve suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery to repair.

“Cooper did a good job of running the offense after Cade was injured,” the coach said. “Our offensive line had another good game controlling the line,” the coach said.

The coach named Brodey Jones, Ty Everitt, Riley Green, Bryce Asher, Rylan Roberson, and Ryan Mark as outstanding linemen.

“Defensively, we had good effort by William Webb, Neece, Asher, Mark, Taren Farmer, and Jones,” Fairchild said. “We also had good play from the secondary by Ivy, Neve, Bailey, Fairchild, and McWhorter. Overall, it was a good night for the JV.”
