Junior high teams lose to Cisco

TheAlbanyJuniorHigh basketball teams had a rough time Thursday, Jan. 11 against Cisco, going 0-4 for the night.

The teams return to action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 (tonight), with games against Hawley. The Lady Cubs are at home with the boys teams playing at Hawley.

On Saturday, Jan. 20, the boys will play in a tournament at Breckenridge.

GIRLS Eighth Grade

The eighth grade Lady Cubs suffered a 53-7 loss to Cisco.

Albany trailed 25-1 at halftime.

Charli Trail and Finlee Brown each scored three points. Tara Cauble scored one.

Seventh Grade

TheseventhgradeLady Cubs fell 36-8 to Cisco.

Albany trailed 5-4 after one quarter, but Cisco used a 17-2 run in the second to pull away.

Tinley Hefner scored four points with Avery Gleitz and Keeley Britting each scoring two.

BOYS Eighth Grade

The eighth grade Cubs took a 26-15 loss in their first outing of 2024.

Clay Chapman scored 12 points and Bennett Neece added three.

Seventh Grade

TheseventhgradeCubs dropped a 36-35 heartbreaker after leading most of the way. Albany led 2317 entering fourth quarter, but was outscored 19-12 in in the period.

Blake Britting scored 24 points, getting 15 in the first half. Ben Russell added six points with Lyle Wheeler scoring four and Levi Murphy one.

Combined Team

Albany’scombinedteam ofseventhandeighthgraders lost 24-3.

Seth Barrett was the only scorer for Albany.
