Jr. high track teams improve times, distances

The Cubs and Lady Cubs competed at the Breckenridge track and field meet on March 3, bringing back several ribbons and recording improved times and distances.
The junior high teams were off this week for spring break, but they will compete again on Friday, March 20 at Eastland. The district track meet has been set for March 28 in Roscoe.
“The girls did a great job at their second meet,” coach M.J. Reneau said. “Many of them cut their times, which means we are moving in the right direction. Our goal is to win the district meet in a couple of weeks.”
The coach noted that the Breckenridge meet provided more competition than the first meet in Knox City.
“It was fun watching the girls get closer to their goals and see them get excited when they improved,” Reneau said.
Comments by the boys coach were not available.
Some races had multiple heats, accounting for duplicate placings.
