Jr. high track teams to host Cub Relays today

The Albany junior high track and field teams participated Friday, March 22 at Clyde.

The Cubs and Lady Cubs will host the Cub Relays Thursday, March 28 (today) in their final meet before district. The junior high district meet is Monday,April 8 at Hamlin.

At Clyde, official results were not kept and events were not scored. Ribbons wereawardedineachheat.

“Everybody got to run; everybody got to vault, jump or throw,” coach Lauren Peacock said.

While there were no official results, Peacock said the meet was a good experience for the young athletes.

“It was a bigger meet,” she said. “I think our girls were in culture shock because Jim Ned and Clyde were there, and Cisco always has a lot of girls. Theywerealittlehumbled, because it was tough.”

The local meet will begin at 2:00 p.m. with field events. The 2400 will start at 2:30 p.m. with other running events starting at 4:30 p.m.

The running order will be seventh grade girls, eighth grade girls, seventh grade boys, and eighth grade boys.
