Jr. high teams back in action

After taking an unexpected week-long break, both the Cubs football teams and the Lady Cubs volleyball squads are returning to action.

The junior high football teams will both be on the road on Thursday (today) for games, with the seventh graders going to Eastland for a 5:00 p.m. game.

The eighth grade Cubs will play in Meridian with a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.

Both teams had games against Anson last week cancelled due to the local school district’s concern about four students testing positive for the coronavirus in less than a 24-hour period.

Likewise, the junior high volleyball teams had games against Ranger this week cancelled because of the virus.

The two volleyball teams will host Abilene TLC on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with the seventh grade playing at 4:30 p.m. The eighth graders will follow at about 5:30 p.m.
