Jr. high teams in action today

The Albany Junior High Cubs and Lady Cubs basketball teams resume play tonight (Thursday) following the holiday break.

The Lady Cubs will host Abilene Christian, while the boys teams visit Abilene Christian. Games start at 5:30 p.m. at both locations.

The games start the second round of the junior high schedule. Competition will revert to Mondays starting next week (Jan. 10) with the boys hosting Cisco and the girls playing at Cisco.

On Saturday, Albany will host a girls tournament. In addition to the local girls, participating teams are from Cisco, Dublin, and Eastland. 

The round-robin event will have 12 games starting at 8:00 a.m. with the Lady Cubs Red team playing Cisco’s eighth grade.

The Red team will play Eastland’s eighth grade at noon and Dublin’s eighth grade at 4:00 p.m.

The Lady Cubs White team will take on Cisco’s seventh grade at 9:00 a.m., Eastland’s seventh grade at 1:00 p.m. and Dublin’s seventh grade at 5:00 p.m.

Photo packages of the junior high girls were taken before the holiday break and are available at the news office. Team and individual pictures of the boys were taken Wednesday and will be ready by next week.
