Howe’s MVP leads Lions’ All-District selections

The Albany Lions were well represented on this year’s all-district football teams, with four players earning superlative awards and nineteen total receiving first and second-team recognition across both sides of the ball.

The headline honor went to senior lineman Tristan Howe, who was named District MVP—an award rarely given to an offensive or defensive lineman. Howe is the first player in the Faith Era, and possibly in Albany history, to earn the district’s top award from the trenches. The MVP title traditionally goes to quarterbacks, running backs, or wide receivers, making his selection a striking testimony to the impact he made this season. Whether anchoring the offensive line or disrupting offenses on defense, Howe proved to be one of the most dominant players in the state.

Calhan Fairchild earned Offensive MVP honors, Brody Oliver was named Offensive Lineman of the Year, Zane Green was selected Defensive Lineman of the Year, and the Albany coaching staff received the district’s Staff of the Year award.
