The Albany golf team stepped into a new environment March 6 at the Millsaptournamentplayed at Lipan’s Sugar Tree.

The Lions return to the links Monday-Tuesday, March 18-19. Myleigh Leveridge will play in Hamlin Monday with the boys teeing up Tuesday at Squaw Valley in Glenrose.

At Lipan, Albany had two teams in the field of 14. Albany 1 placed fourth with a team score of 352. Albany 2 was ninth at 381.

“This was an unbelievably tough course,” coach Tate Thompson said. “The playing field was made up of all larger schools, including some 4A teams.”

Luke Marshall shot 83 to lead Albany 1, followed byHuffmanHeatlywith84 andAydenBalliewwith88. LuteWheelerandHouston Heatly both shot 97.

Ty Richard ledAlbany 2 with 84. Jacob Knight shot 96, Connor Smith shot 97, and HollisYeates shot 100.
