Golfers to play after spring break

Albany’s Myleigh Leveridge competed in her first golf tournament of the spring Monday, March 4 at the Eula tournament at Shady Oaks Golf Course.

On Wednesday, March 6, the Albany boys played in the Millsap tournament at Lipan’s Sugar Tree Golf Club. Results will be reported next week.

Albany golfers will not compete over spring break. The next outing will be Monday, March 18, with Leveridge playing at the Hamlin girls tournament. The boys return to action Tuesday, March 19 at the Glen Rose tournament at Squaw Valley Golf Course.

Leveridge shot 127 over 18holesatShadyOaks,just off the 125 she shot there in her first outing of 2023.

“She’sgettingmorecomfortable around the green,” coach Tate Thompson said.

Leveridge will play in the Haskell tournament on Monday,March25,followed by the District 10-2A tournament Monday-Tuesday, April 1-2 at Shady Oaks.

Albany took two boys teams comprising nine players on Wednesday to the Millsap tournament.

“We actually have 12 boys out,” Thompson said. “We’re planning to play more challenging tournaments on more challenging courses. Our goal is to season them for regional and state.”
