Girls split matches, Bulldogs lose to Sidney

The Lady Bulldogs split games last week, defeating Strawn in three sets on Tuesday, Sept. 11, and then falling in straight sets to Newcastle last Saturday.

The junior high and varsity teams hosted Hawley on Tuesday, Sept. 18, but results were not available at press time.

The varsity team will be in Albany this Saturday, Sept. 22 for a 10:00 a.m. matchup with the Lady Lions.

Both Moran teams travel to Abilene Christian for games starting at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Jr. High Volleyball

The junior high Lady Bulldogs hosted Strawn on Tuesday, Sept. 11, for their first game of the season and split the first two sets before securing a win in the third 25-14, 12-25, 15-8.

Varsity Volleyball

The varsity girls handed visiting Strawn a loss in three sets 25-14, 25-12, 25-8 on Sept. 11.

The Newcastle Ladycats proved too much for Moran last Saturday, and the hosting Lady Bulldogs lost in straight sets 10-25, 18-25, and 18-25. 

Football

The Bulldogs lost their homecoming bout with Sidney last Friday 12-60. The game was called in the third quarter by the rule of 45.

Moran will welcome Rotan to Bulldog Stadium this Friday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

The junior high Bulldogs play Jonesboro in Gorman at 5:00 p.m. tonight.

Results from the junior high team’s trip to take on Sidney last Thursday, Sept. 13, was not known at press time.
