The Moran Lady Bulldogs split games last week, losing to Ranger on Tuesday, and coming back to defeat Strawn in straight sets.

Ranger Game

Ranger slammed Moran in the first set of the 6:00 p.m. game on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

The varsity girls recovered and kept it closer the rest of the night, but lost in four sets 4-25, 21-25, 25-19, 22-25.

Victory in Strawn

The Lady Bulldogs played in Strawn on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 10:00 a.m. and won in three sets, 25-19, 25-11, 25-22, to improve to 3-5 in district play.

Coach Dakota Fowler credited junior November Meredith with inspiring the team to the win over Strawn.

“November had six aces and seven kills in the three sets,” Fowler said. “She is also one of our setters and she did an amazing job seeing the court and finding the holes on the other side. November was a big help when it came to keeping the team together and excited throughout the game.”

Both of the Moran volleyball teams were in Newcastle playing the Ladycats on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Results of those games, and the junior high game on Oct. 2, were not available at press time.

The Lady Bulldogs will take to the court in Hawley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Moran teams will host Albany next Tuesday, Oct. 16 in games starting at 5:00 p.m.
