Flag football gets started

The Albany NFL Flag Football League kicked off its 2022 season Saturday, Oct. 1 with six games in three age groups and more than 100 players.

“We had a good turnout,” league organizer Zach Maberry said. “I’m really pleased with how it worked out.”

Maberry said games for this season have been moved from the Albany High School baseball field to the football practice field at the high school track.

Results for Week 1 are as follow:

K-First Grade: Cowboys 26, Ravens 0; Seahawks 26, Chiefs 6.

Second-Third
Grade:

Bengals 6, Titans 6 (tie); Bills 13, Vikings 0.

Fourth-Sixth
Grade:

Eagles 24, Chargers 20; Broncos 20, 49ers 7.

Week 2 SCHEDULE

Kindergarten-First Grade (9:00 a.m.) – Seahawks vs. Cowboys, Ravens vs. Chiefs

Second-Third Grade (10:00 a.m.) – Bills vs. Bengals, Titans vs. Vikings

Fourth-Sixth Grade (11:00 a.m.) – Eagles vs. Broncos, 49ers vs. Chargers

Abilene FCA League

Albany’s sixth grade entry in the Abilene FCA League improved to 7-1 with a pair of victories on Monday, Oct. 3.

Albany defeated Jim Ned 46-13 and Anson 54-6.
