An Albany baseball player has been recognized on the Class 2A All-State Baseball team.

Junior Joshua Dyer received honorable mention as a second baseman for the Lions on the annual list that is sponsored by Collin Street Bakery and the Texas Sports Writers Association.

The Lions advanced to the Region I quarterfinal, losing to DeLeon. Albany was undefeated in District 8-2A with a 10-0 record, finishing the season at 17-5-3 with playoff wins over Winters and Anthony.

Dyer, who will be a senior this school year, also plays summer select league baseball with the Dallas Tigers. He is the son of Sally and Trey Dyer of Baird.
