The Albany Cubs swept all three games against the Roscoe boys on Monday at home, while the girls lost two out of three on the road in Roscoe.

The boys will host the Abilene Hawks on Monday, Dec. 17 starting at 5:00 p.m. with the seventh grade. The eighth grade will follow at about 6:00 p.m. There will not be a B team game.

The girls are off for the Christmas break, resuming action on Jan. 10 in Hawley.

The 8A boys defeated Roscoe 44-20.

“We got off to a fast start and never slowed down,” coach Ryder Peacock said. “We transitioned well and did a good job of scoring in the half court, as well as playing good defense. Overall, it was a solid effort with three guys shooting in the double digits.”

Scoring for Albany were London Fuentes 14, Caden Price 14, Cole Chapman 10, Cameron Nelson 4, and Andrew Leverton 1.

The 7A boys thumped Roscoe 41-6, with two players scoring in double digits.

“The guys continue to improve their passing and transition offense,” Peacock said. “We played the passing lanes on defense and were able to get some easy buckets. We finished more shots than we did last week, which propelled us to a bigger win.”

Scoring for the Cubs were Adam Hill 14, Lanxton Viertel 10, Houston Heatly 6, Cole Read 5, Bryson Herring 4, and Cason Fairchild 2.

The B team won their game 12-4 against Roscoe.

“We did a good job on defense in the second half, not letting Roscoe score,” the coach said. “They had one tall kid who we let rebound in the first half, but we did a good job of keeping him off the glass in the second half.”

Scoring in the game were Tyler Chapman 5, Tyler Waddell 4, Austin Sanchez 2, and Jayden Lucas 1.

The 7A girls won their game in Roscoe, 18-14.

“We started off a little shaky, missing several opportunities down low,” coach Lauren Peacock said. “We had a difficult time taking care of the ball in the third quarter, but the fourth was better.”

The team scored 10 points in the fourth to win the game.

Scoring were Kiana Roberson 6, Ashlyn Holson 4, Robin Lucas 4, Robyn Trail 2, and Braylyn Abbate 2.

The 8A girls lost their bout to Roscoe, 37-18.

Scoring were Brilee Moore 9, Presley Green 4, Briley Tabor 2, Gracie Price 2, and Ella Webb 1.

The combined B team fell 10-4 to Roscoe. Scoring were Chloe Broadus and Leddie Leech with two each.
